Hazardous-zone load pin

Available certifications : ATEX, IECEx, CSA (for some types of load cells)

Should they be used in the oil and gas industry or in agriculture, multiple applications are exposed to variable explosion hazards, as well for types of risk (gas and/or dust) and ignition temperatures. Risk analysis determines the type of zone (0, 1, 2, 20, 21, 22) which, in turn, determines the certificate required for the components installed in the hazardous zone.

For more than 20 years, we have had an ATEX EX ia IIC T4 and T6(*) certification for our load pins (and other types of load cells/force transducers), allowing us to meet the requirements for zones 0 and 20. This certificate covers the temperature range from -40 to +60°C. Obviously, addressing the needs for zones 0 and 20 also enables integration in the lower hazardous zones, 1, 2, 21 and 22.

Having been active in oil and gas instrumentation for upstream business for around 20 years and having received international requirements for solutions for which ATEX certification is insufficient, we have worked to secure two more certifications for worldwide coverage. In mid-2014, we obtained IECEx Ex ia IIC T6 (*) and at the beginning of 2015, CSA CA/US Class 1 Div 1 (*).

These certifications are applicable on mV/V and 4-20mA signal outputs.

They also apply to our models 5000, 5600, 5050 (custom-made load pins) and 5300 (standard load pins), combined with plenty of other options appropriate to sensors required for marine, offshore, onshore and polar applications, among others.
