Digitalisation of standard reference force transducers: an ideal solution

For a long time, national calibration laboratories have been testing standard reference force transducers with their own very high accuracy calibrated amplifiers and electronics.

This situation implied the use of similar electronics, also calibrated, to carry out transfer calibrations on operation sites, which was extremely expensive both in terms of investment and the costs related to the regular calibration required.

For these reasons, for many years, SENSY has offered complete measurement chains for calibration, which are economically more accessible.

The solution proposed by SENSY is the digitalisation of standard reference force transducers, whose advantages are threefold:

  • Cost-effective, because the standard reference force transducer no longer depends on any electronics and, once calibrated, it connects to any computer via a USB port or even a RS232 port.
  • Functional, because the sensor is delivered with software which, following the introduction of the coefficients mentioned on the calibration certificate issued by the calibration laboratory, enables the visualisation of the real force that is applied to the sensor in high resolution on a computer or smartphone screen.
  • Reliability of the measurements: in agreement with the calibration laboratories, the internal values of the digital amplification cards are taken into account on the official certificates. Therefore, these values are not subject to manipulation or conversion drift. Digitalisation is intimately related to the intrinsic characteristics of the sensor.
